About PLO-5
An independent learning resource for 5-card Pot Limit Omaha
PLO-5 explains 5-card Pot Limit Omaha strategy from the rules up: how to judge a starting hand, how to play each street, and where the game differs from 4-card PLO. The site also offers free tools such as the pot size bet calculator and the starting hand analyzer.
How the content is made
- Probabilities are exact. Figures such as "46.8% of hands are double-suited" come from enumerating all 2,598,960 possible starting hands, not from estimates.
- Equity examples are calculated. Hand-versus-hand equities in the articles are computed exhaustively for the remaining cards with our own PLO5 hand evaluator.
- Strategy frequencies are approximate. Opening, defending and betting frequencies are based on solver studies at 100 big blinds, 6-max, with typical online rake. They are a baseline, not exact targets; your stakes, rake and opponents will move them.
- Articles are reviewed and updated. Each article shows its publication and update dates in its structured data, and corrections are made when errors are found.
Privacy
PLO-5 does not use cookies for visitors, does not show ads and does not load any third-party scripts or trackers. To understand which pages are useful, the server records a minimal log of each page view:
- the date and time, and the page address (without any query parameters);
- the domain of the referring site, if any (for example "google.com"), not the full address;
- whether the request came from a phone, a desktop or an automated crawler, and the crawler's name;
- an anonymous daily visitor code, calculated from a random value that changes every day and is then deleted. It cannot be linked to a person or followed across days.
No IP addresses, full browser strings, names, e-mail addresses or other personal data are stored. The log is used only for aggregate statistics and is deleted after about 13 months.
Responsible gambling
This site is for adults (18+). Poker is a form of gambling. Only play with money you can afford to lose, set limits for time and money in advance, and take breaks.
If gambling is causing problems for you or someone close to you, help is available. BeGambleAware offers free, confidential advice, and most countries have a national gambling helpline. Most online poker sites also let you set deposit limits or exclude yourself.
